Ready, Set, Run!
Ready, Set, Run!
We are very excited to be offering the RunVermont Ready, Set, Run program again this Spring! This program helps children learn about and practice fitness, good nutrition, citizenship and goal setting all while having fun and being safe. We will be meeting once a week after school on Wednesdays from 3:00 - 4:00 starting May 1 going through June 5.
The program costs $35 and includes a lot! Participants receive a t-shirt, medal, finisher’s certificate and other cool prizes. There are many scholarships available for this program. Please do not hesitate to let me know if your child would benefit from a scholarship!

Plants and Insects
On Friday we began our new (and very exciting) science unit -- Insects and Plants. This unit will take us through the entire semester! The unit focuses on life science and the structure and functions of living things. The growth and development of plants and animals, interactions of organisms with the environment on land and in water.
On Friday we planted brassica. Before planting we discussed the following questions:
- How do you know if something is a plant?
- Are plants living? How do you know?
- Where do plants come from?
Students explored brassica seeds before planting them. Students learned how to properly plant a seed (we planted two seeds in each cup). Each student has their very own cup which they will use to observe the plant grow over the coming weeks. Below are photographs from planting.
